For the past weeks I had much on my hands so I did not had time to update the site. But here is a short update of what is going on:
- For the past weeks I had the opportunity to work with Serge on two missions (I just helped with the technical staff while Serge did the rest ). These two missions helped me also to fix few bugs and receive better insight regarding how the plugin should work.
- I started working on the next version of the MissionX plugin, it is now labeled as v1.3 but it will be named 2.0 at the end. The main features I'm working currently are:
> Re-write of Logic mechanism.
> Add parameters and the ability to calculate.
> Add Debug widget that will display parameters status on the fly, for easy debugging and understanding whats going on under the hood.
The widget will, in the future, hold info regarding Area and other technical staff.
> Add LogicTarget element, so the Objective can be a dataref and not just based coordination. - There will be other fundamental changes to the Syntax like:
> Instead of <Objective> I'll rename the element to <Step> or <Node>.
It seems that for some of you it makes more sense that an Objective is a higher level of "step".
This is a semantic change to the Mission file, but since there will be some more, it is just logical to change the major version of the plugin version to "v2.0"
> Other modifications will be the elevation of Area will be feet and not meter (the plugin will convert this to meters)
When the next version will come out ?
As of now, I have no idea. My time is limited, but some progress was done on the Logic side, so the hardest work is behind me. I'm now working on the Debug widgets and then the testing of these two features will take place.
If I'm lucky, by the end of this year the next version will see the light. I hope it will be after XP10 will be delivered.
Until the next post -
Cheers, and I'll be more then happy to help with your missions.
