Hi All,

I'll hopefully upload today the next version of Mission-X, as I stated before this is another build related to the Mission Generating Engine.
So what is new:
  1. Added support for "Delivery" missions, aim for GA flights.
This enhancement is fully random, meaning, by using a simple template the Mission Generator Engine will create an adventure that will ask you to hop between 2 to 5 NavAids on your near vicinity.
  2. The Mission Generator Engine, will try to filter out locations not suited to the type of plane the "template" was designed for (you can still pick any plane you want though).
  3. Inventory is now generated also using a predefined items.
I did not used real item names, instead just added placeholders name for them.
  4. Added support for "hours_local" to define the local hour of the flight instead the UTC/ZULU time (see designer guide, topic: "global_settings".
  5. Added "Write Camera location to Log" command, so you can freely roam in X-Plane world, and pick locations using just your camera, instead of moving your plane around the map.

Although the version build is a small bump, the amount of work and code pored into the engine was not small, but I think it is a great addition.

My personal suggestion is to use the Papua Terrain update from "antheun", pick one of the airports in Papua (like WABP), and generate a delivery mission.
Press the "start" button, check your GPS for the route, pick some items from inventory, and "cruise" along.

Hello all,

Some enhancements to the "Generate Mission Engine".

I have continued enhancing the Generate Mission Engine to produce better:
  • User experience - Added "start mission" button after mission is generated.
  • Added messages regarding distance from target.
  • Messages take into consideration goals template type.
  • Added 3D Object random pick.
  • Added 3D Object positioning relative to target point.
  • Added some more point of interest.
  • Added the ability to define "template" type at the <point> level, so Engine will take it into consideration.

Some features needs more 3D Object to be available and defined in the template and some needs more points of interest.

Until next time
Cheers

Hi All,

Just a quick heads up, the latest version of Mission-X plugin is here.
Mission-X v3.0.218 is here and with it some new features:
  • Generating Random Mission based on Ad-Hoc locations.
  • Added <GPS> element so you can predefined coordinates locations into the FMS. Only Latitude and Longitude baed.
  • Designer build has gone some optimizations, now less stutter when writing to log.txt file.
  • [Designers] CueInfo should now render correctly against terrain elevation.

Please be aware that in this version the Mission Generator is in Proof of Concept stage.
Soon I'll publish another build with more refined work.

You can also read about Generating Missions using Templates in the following document.

Until next time

Creation is something I always wanted to do. Since I'm not that good in painting/writing, I decided to contribute in programming.
