Yesterday I published the new build for Mission-X, this time it adds support for static 3D Objects.
To demonstrate it, I modified one of the Demo missions (Townsville and back with Simple script Usage) where you can see how the 3D object interact with your configurations.
Difference between v2.x and v3x ?
In v3.x alpha 1 there is only support for static 3D Objects, so you can't define a path of movement.
This feature is still on the plate, but I'll implement it sometime in the near future.
What is expected next
There are minor features I want to incorporate like:
- 2D Map - Display a simple image as a navigation assistance map. It won't replace X-Plane map, It only should be used as a static map to display route, important locations relevant to the mission and such.
Maps can be hand drawn or based on real world map choose what ever you want. - METAR Injection - This simple feature allow you to inject a METAR file to X-Plane. Can be useful when you want a consistent weather during the mission.
- Moving 3D Object - This is more a personal wish since I want the plugin to be able to run Okawanga mission. Only problem is that I'm not sure I'll have time to implement this though the framework is there.
- External scripting and 3D Object interaction - This is a missing implementation from v3.0.200 alpha 1. I might implement it only after moving objects will be implemented so I'll have the full picture.
My true goal is to have a nice set of "tools" to create a mission with voice recording.
If there is anyone who would like to try this, I'll be glad to assist - from plugin point of view :-)
Until next time
Have a great simming
